| Our church is composed of
a wide assortment of persons with varied life experience
and perspectives. But we are united by a common sense of
God's mysterious, moving presence in our world and a
personal experience of His redemptive grace in Jesus
Christ. We are drawn together by the compulsion to offer
God our highest worship and our best praise. In the
hectic pace of life in the city, worship serves as the
spiritual center which quiets and restores our frazzled
souls and around which the multitude of our other
commitments finds its proper place.
We are growing, as
persons and as a church. The Spirit of God is stretching us and
calling us forward. Our priority on young families
highlights the conviction that each of us is God's
child. The personal size of the congregation and the
intergenerational quality of relationships help us to
partner with and support one another as fellow pilgrims.
With respect for the individual conscience as Baptist distinctive, we encourage many from a
variety of denominational heritages in the Christian
life.

The Purpose of
Memorial Drive Baptist Church is to
reach people and teach them about
Jesus Christ.

Although our facilities are located in
the peaceful, wooded setting of the Memorial-area
Villages, we live in all parts of the metropolitan area.
While worship, play and study on our beautiful campus
provide a valued, temporary escape from urban pressures
and stress, the same Spirit of God who calls us aside
also sends us out. As followers of Christ, we are
committed to effective, relevant ministry and
sacrificial service. Our short-term ministry projects
provide the means to incarnate God's love in the
presence of human hurts.
We are people of purpose. We are
discovering life's ultimate intention in Jesus
Christ. Our journey begins and flows from the
implications of that truth. You are welcome to become a
