Dr. James W. Doremus III Pastor

I am originally from Mississippi.  Janet and I have been married 33 years.  We are blessed with two sons, two daughters –in-laws, one granddaughter, one grandson, and one Labrador Retriever.  Janet is employed as a nurse and has just received her master’s degree in nursing.  We moved to Houston in 2004 having previously lived in Colorado, Texas, Florida, and Mississippi. 
Hobbies: running, cycling, and the outdoors
Favorite Movie: Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Favorite Vacation: Anytime we go skiing as a family.

Larry Mayberry         Student Pastor

I am a PK (pastor’s kid) from a small town south of Houston called East Bernard. I have lived in Montana and all three major cities in Texas. I am a recent graduate of Houston Baptist University and am attending seminary at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I am married to Lindsey and we love to watch movies, hang out with friends and travel.

I love watching Seinfeld re-runs as well as Lost and Heroes. I love to travel and have been to 24 states and 8 countries, most recently Guatemala.

Because of my living arrangements in Texas throughout my life I am a San Antonio Spurs, Houston Astros and Dallas Cowboys fan. When they’re on, I’m watchin’!

Ryan Beasley                        Worship Leader

I am a native Houstonian.  I graduated with a major in Vocal Music and a major in Business Management from Houston Baptist University.  Music has been a huge part of my life since I was just a wee lad. 

I can play several instruments but my main concentration is singing.  My wife, Lea (pronounced ‘lay-uh’, like Princess Leia  from Star Wars), is also a singer songwriter, so I guess you could say we have a very ‘harmonious’ marriage!  We love hanging out with friends and family, watching movies, and leading worship together.

Some of my hobbies include: audio production, computers, and paintball

Lindsey Mayberry               Children's Minister

I am from a small town called East Bernard.

I am currently attending Houston Baptist University to obtain a degree in Elementary Education, and will graduate in December of 2010. I have a deep passion for ministering to children and seeing them grow in their relationships with Christ.  

 

I am married to Larry, and I love seeing movies, planting flowers, taking pictures, and watching sports. I hope to have a large family someday.

Sue Wednt                      Office Administrator

Born and raised in Lubbock, Texas, I grew up going to First Baptist Church.  I moved to Houston in 1979. My husband, Beau and I met and married at Second Baptist Church, Houston, 16 years ago. 

We are a blended family. Beau has a daughter Amy, 27. 

I have twin sons, Josh and Justin, 27, a daughter, April, 24, and a son, Matt, 21. We love all animals.  At present, we have a turtle, 6 cats, and 2 dogs who have all adopted us.  Obviously, there is never a dull moment at our house....which just proves to us that God has a great sense of humor!
