The Villages Independence Festival began over 16 years ago at Memorial Dive Baptist Church promoting patriotism and community spirit on July 4th.  This event has grown to include a parade, free hot dogs and hamburgers, games, entertainment, and the always special water cannon supplied by the Memorial Villages Fire Department.  The event is now supported by the six Memorial Villages and every year attendance exceeds 4000. The parade begins at 9:00am and the festivities begin at 10:00am concluding at 1:00pm.
