For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
(The Living Bible)

Weddings

A church wedding should be a worship service in every sense. Marriage is an ordinance of God, and the ceremony at the altar places the marriage relationship under the blessing and commandment of God. Next to your relationship with Jesus Christ, this is life's most important union.
  1. Premarital Counseling
All couples that marry at MDBC, whether members or non-members, are required to have three hours of premarital counseling. If you are using a guest minister and he is doing the counseling, please furnish a letter from that minister to the wedding coordinator at MDBC.
  2. Deposit and Fees
The use of the sanctuary for the wedding and the rehearsal is $1200.
The wedding fee includes the service of the MDBC sound and light director.
The fee includes the wedding director for MDBC.
The fee includes the clean-up of the sanctuary after the ceremony.
A deposit of $200 is required within two weeks of booking.
A refundable security deposit of $250 is required.
All fees are required to be paid in full one month in advance of the rehearsal.
  3. Rehearsal Plans and Ceremony
The rehearsal is to be the evening prior to the wedding.
The church will be available for a two-hour period for the rehearsal.
It is important that each person participating in the wedding ceremony be present for the rehearsal.
  4. Dressing Rooms
The bride and her attendants will use the sanctuary parlor.
The groom and groomsmen will use the choir room.
The bride is responsible for removing all personal belongings from the dressing rooms immediately after the ceremony. Clothing items should not be left in the dressing rooms before or after the ceremony.
  5. Music
The use of pre-recorded tracks are permitted for the prelude and the vocalist. It is very important that the MDBC sound director be given the tracks and their designations prior to the rehearsal.
If using the MDBC organist, the bride is responsible for contacting her.
The organist fee is set by the organist and paid directly as agreed.
If someone else is preferred, they must be a trained organist and approved by the MDBC music director. Keys for the organ can be picked up between 8:30 and 4:00 p.m. on rehearsal day and returned to the Wedding Director immediately following the wedding.
Both an organ and grand piano are available in the sanctuary.
The instruments may not be moved.
  6. Restrictions
No alcoholic beverages are permitted on the property.
Any wedding participant appearing under the influence will be asked to leave.
No smoking is allowed in the building or on the property.
The church is not responsible for lost or stolen property.
The dressing rooms are not locked during the wedding.
Nursery facilities are not available because of Health Department regulations.
No birdseed or rice to be thrown after the wedding. Rose petals or bubbles are permissible.
